TEMPE JUNIOR CREW PROGRAMS

PROGRAMS

Competitive Crew: Competitive rowing program for young men and women ages 12-18.  Participants train 5-6 days a week and compete in local, regional, national and international regattas.  Competitive Crew is a year-round program. 

Youth Intro to Rowing: TJC offers Learn to Row classes throughout the year. Contact us for information on upcoming Learn to Row classes

Learn to Row: This program is under development, please check back for further information.

Intermediate Rowing: This program is designed for HIGH SCHOOL AGE ROWERS with a minimum of six months rowing experience who are seeking to stay in shape and refine their skills over the summer. All current Tempe Junior Crew members are also eligible. Other experienced rowers may be accepted with the approval of the head coach. Contact Bill Burghart for details. This program is Monday - Friday, 7:15 - 9:15AM. Minimum of 6 registrants per weekly session. $50 per session. Registration form can be found on the “Forms” page.

Advanced Rowing: This program is designed for rowers ages 16 and up with at least 2 years of rowing experience who are interested in working hard to improve their fitness and rowing skills. This program runs Monday thru Friday 5 AM-7 AM. Minimum of 6 registrants per weekly session. $50 per session. Registration form can be found on the “Forms” page.

Seminars/Clinics: Throughout the year, TJC offers clinics and seminars that cover a range of topics which pertain to the junior rower. Guest speakers and instructors are brought in by TJC to instruct our athletes on topics such as strength training, nutrition and eating disorders, college rowing and scholarships to name a few. TJC also hosts several guest coaches a year. Guest coaches in the past have included Xeno Mueller, Skip Braatz (Stanford University) and Jack St. Clair (Villanova University).
